After a long hiatus the infomaven.com website is back online.

I took the site off-line last year in order to build a much improved and larger website.

It’s back now – smaller than ever.

While I’m not convinced that any website is better than none at all, for the convenience of clients (former and potential), I put up a site that offers little more than a list of services and projects.

A new weblog

One thing that is new is this weblog – Infomaven Notes.

I never knew that I was delighted to learn that it is possible to run WordPress on a windows server. Since much of my work involves using ColdFusion, I use Jodohost for developing new sites and running my garden and library directories. Setting up WordPress was as easy on Jodohost as it is on my DreamHost account. The only thing I don’t like is the need to include /index.php/ in the permalinks.

While I’m a fan of WordPress for blog management, I’m not a fan of the editor. I’ve tried just about every desktop blog editor and ended up dumping most of them – including the ones I bought.

blogdeskFortunately, I ran across a review of BlogDesk on the Chrono Tron blog. I downloaded BlogDesk and I’m very pleased it. BlogDesk is an easy to use WYSIWYG editor that makes writing a pleasure. I do have a small problem with the Windows Installer pop-up messages, but I can live with that. One more thing, BlogDesk is free!

Now that I have the right tools, I expect to blog frequently.
